Composites
Fiber-reinforced materials combining exceptional strength-to-weight ratios with design flexibility for structural, protective, and high-temperature applications.
What We Source
- Carbon fiber prepregs (unidirectional, woven, various resin systems)
- Glass fiber reinforcements (E-glass, S-glass prepregs and dry fabrics)
- Aramid fibers and fabrics (Kevlar, Twaron)
- Epoxy resin systems (elevated temperature cure, room temperature cure)
- Phenolic and BMI resin systems
- Honeycomb core materials (aluminum, Nomex, thermoplastic)
- Foam core materials (PMI, PVC, SAN)
- Adhesive films and surfacing materials
Common Specifications
- Fiber areal weight and resin content specifications
- Cure temperature and processing requirements
- Mechanical property requirements (tensile, compression, shear)
- Shelf life and out-time limitations
- Customer qualification requirements
Typical Documentation
- Certificate of Analysis (CoA) with batch/lot properties
- Shelf life certification and manufacture date
- Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Processing recommendations
- Qualification test data where applicable
Lead Time & Availability
Qualified materials from stock: 2-6 weeks. Custom layups or specialty resin systems: 8-16 weeks. Shelf life considerations affect inventory strategies.
MOQ Considerations
Prepregs typically sold by roll (50-500 sq ft minimum). Smaller quantities available from distribution where stocked. Core materials may have sheet minimums.
Compliance Notes
- High-performance composite materials may be export controlled
- Precursor fibers (especially high-modulus carbon) may require classification
- We work with suppliers who understand aerospace/defense requirements
- Dual-use awareness for advanced composite systems
